Nick is an FTE Senior Advisor whose career spans 26 years in manufacturing engineering and operations in the automotive industry. Nick’s remarkable expertise, honed through rigorous training and hands-on experience, has been pivotal in effectively implementing and operationalizing lean principles. His adept leadership skills have been consistently showcased throughout his tenure across five manufacturing plants. In these roles, he has seamlessly managed operations spanning general assembly, paint, stamping, major equipment installation, and product launch, underscoring his invaluable contributions to each endeavor.

Notable Experience and Accomplishments: 

  • Led a transformative initiative within a paint department of a major automotive OEM, orchestrating a comprehensive turnaround through a blend of process improvements, team building, equipment upgrades, guaranteed vendor accountability, and leveraging data analytics.  Improving FTQ from 82% to 89%, HPV, overtime, and scrap cost
  • Contributed to a $2B manufacturing investment for a building expansion and equipment installation. Converting an operating Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) plant to a combo Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)/ICE manufacturing site.  Influencing safety, equipment capability, and project timing
  • Executed a targeted transition plan for a new paint top coat facility, surpassing initial project timelines by four weeks. This proactive strategy accelerated the launch and yielded significant savings in manpower, spare parts, overtime expenses, and energy consumption. Additionally, it exceeded FTQ launch metrics
  • Led multiple vehicle plant launches, including cars and trucks with various options. Designed acceleration plans for one and three-shift facilities. Led launch teams responsible for setup, validation, tooling, training, material management, process validation, and workplace organization
  • Extensive plant experience leading manufacturing maintenance and engineering teams, overseeing production tooling, manufacturing equipment, MTTR/MCBF, OEE, training, equipment maintenance, installation, conveyors, torque tools, Enterprise Asset Management, product quality, facility equipment, and operator workstations

Prior to consulting, Nick held key leadership roles in manufacturing, serving as department area Manager, Plant ME Director, and Global Manufacturing System calibrator. His tenure at General Motors encompassed roles such as production group leader, process engineer, and maintenance and engineering manager in various plants. Nick is Six Sigma Black Belt certified and has led numerous OpEx projects.

Nick holds a Master of Science in Operations Management from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, a Bachelor of Science in Management Finance from Park University in Parksville, Missouri, and an A.S. in Electronic System Repair from Community College of the Air Force.
