Dave is a tenacious, enthusiastic, and dependable advisor with high-level interpersonal skills, possessing over nine years of professional experience and seven years of automotive manufacturing launch experience. Dave is an expert in analyzing issues, solving problems, reducing costs, and developing solutions for manufacturing process improvement. His comprehensive career is highlighted by significant achievements in program leadership, global project launch and implementation, and project management for large-scale tooling integration.

Notable experience and accomplishments:

  • Technical project supervisor for a propriety headlamp aim and audit technique at a tier 1 automaker, leading a team of 6 senior engineers to develop and integrate a groundbreaking headlamp aim/audit technique across 13 North American assembly plants. This initiative is expected to result in a reoccurring yearly cost savings of $1.8 million. 
  • Served as a manufacturing program leader at a tier 1 automaker. Dave oversaw a team of 6 engineers for the launch of a vehicle model year changeover. His adept program management skills involve coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver an organized and efficient balance out, achieving on-time key build dates while implementing over 100 engineering changes aimed at increasing vehicle robustness and reducing costs. 
  • Responsible for supervising four manufacturing engineers in developing scopes of work, implementation strategies, and executing project deliveries for automotive manufacturing end-of-line systems, including Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) calibration, car wash install, vision validation, tire pressure monitor system, door carriers, window power tools, glass cell rearrangements, and power supplies. 
  • Created, supervised, and executed a project implementation strategy to remove and replace two-wheel alignment machines with new equipment and integrate with existing headlamp aimers, weight scale devices, driver assist technology calibration equipment, error proofing systems, and test result reporting software. Directed cross-functional teams of over 60 people around the clock to deliver fully functional and Six Sigma-capable machines in under ten days, receiving recognition awards for planning, implementation, and completion. 
  • Managed the design, purchasing, integration, and commissioning of the body side inner, outer, and assembly complete lines for a tier 1 automaker. Consistently delivering on project timelines, commitments, and deadlines. 

Prior to joining FTE Performance Consulting, Dave was a senior manufacturing engineer at Ford Motor Company and project manager at Comau, where he led launch-related projects in final assembly, end of line (EOL), and body in white (BIW). 

Dave holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
