Reuben Jones

Reuben Jones is an FTE Senior Advisor with over 39 years of automotive manufacturing experience.  He has extensive experience as a proven leader leading operations and processes with responsibility for stamping, body, paint operations, and general assembly operations with a leading global automotive company inside and outside the United States.  Reuben has a proven leadership track record that achieved results through effective planning and preparation, building successful winning teams through effective communication, empowerment, and team building.

Notable experience and accomplishments:

  • Leading the plant to achieve the best launch at General Motors in 2021 with the introduction of the Bolt EV & EUV.
  • Successfully implementing a plan as Plant Director to keep the Cruise autonomous vehicle launch on track during an extended plant shutdown, enabling Cruise to become the first company approved in California for driverless rides and establish leadership in autonomous vehicles.
  • Pioneering the implementation of new manufacturing protocols at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, including mask-wearing and social distancing, as Assistant Plant Director. 
  • Initiating and executing a six-day production schedule, resulting in an annual production volume exceeding 340K units, while serving as Assistant Plant Director.
  • Developing and implementing a plan for voluntary Sunday shifts at the plant, generating additional SUV volume and contributing to an increase in revenue by $5-$6.5 million each Sunday in response to customer demand.
  • Achieving a 95% direct run rate for four consecutive months and attaining GMS Built in Quality IV certification.
  • Guiding significant paint improvement initiatives as Paint Area Manager, leading the Paint Department to earn General Motors Chairman’s Honors for the GMT-201 Van Launch.

Prior to consulting, Reuben worked at General Motors and held various roles in Manufacturing Operations and Launch Excellence.  Reuben led various organizations through shift additions, building a new stamping plant, new model launches, and plant additions and expansions.  As a senior manufacturing executive, he worked in six Assembly Centers with experience in Paint, General Assembly operations, and Plant operations with responsibility for production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain operations

Reuben holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University.  Reuben has excelled in executive level leadership programs that has enhanced his ability as an effective executive level leader.
